Pricing FAQ
Is there a free trial of Pro?+
There's no separate trial — start on Free for as long as you want. Upgrade to Pro the moment you hit a limit (more skills, AI generations, team workspace). Cancel anytime, no contracts.
What happens if I downgrade from Pro to Free?+
Your data is preserved. You'll be limited to 10 skills, 1 project, and 1 sync target — anything beyond that becomes read-only until you upgrade again or delete to fit the limit. No data loss.
Can I bring my own Anthropic API key on Pro?+
Yes — Pro includes a managed AI quota, but you can also add your own Anthropic key in Settings to bypass the quota and access more powerful models. The key is encrypted at rest.
Self-hosted is really free with all features?+
Yes. Praxl is open source under AGPL-3.0. The self-hosted edition has zero feature gates compared to cloud. The only operational difference is that you bring your own Anthropic API key for AI, you run the database, and you manage updates yourself.
Can I switch between cloud and self-hosted later?+
Yes. Both editions use the same data model. Export your skills from one and import into the other. The CLI works against both — point it at https://go.praxl.app or your self-hosted URL with --url.
Do you charge per team member?+
No. Pro is a flat $5/month per workspace owner. Up to 10 team members can join an organization at no extra cost.
